The Cardwell Historic Precinct is Cardwell’s Council funded information centre.

The entry point to the Cardwell Historic Precinct is the Hubinger Building which was originally the Council Chambers and the Town Library.

The Bush Telegraph Building is located next to the Hubinger Building and was originally the Bush Telegraph Station and was built in 1870. It is listed on the Qld Heritage Register and is one of the oldest buildings in North Queensland.

There is a Court House building located behind these two buildings and is open for you to browse through.

All the buildings are now used to preserve the towns history.

Guided information tours are available by appointment only. This is a great way to learn about the history of these buildings.

Entry is free, however, donations are welcome.
