Cardwell is ideally located along the Bruce Highway half way between Townsville and Cairns and is a popular stop over for visitors.
The town sprawls along the foreshore and offers magnificent views of the Coral Sea and the world famous Hinchinbrook Island which at an enormous 39,900ha is Australia’s largest island National Park.
Surrounding Cardwell visitors can discover a vast natural wonderland, including waterfalls, fresh water swimming holes, wilderness walking trails and mountain views, all uniquely lodged between two world heritage listed areas – the Wet Tropics and the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Areas.
